Importance of drinking water you didn't know


Water is so important to an extent that you can't live more than 4 days without it. Water is so important to our bodies to an extent that 60% of the body is made up with water. 

Most of the time we all think we know the importance of water to our bodies but the numbers tell a different story, according to garmin.com over 80% of the people don't drink enough water. 

On average a person is advised to drink 3 litters of water a day and below is the importance that amount of water will play is your body.

1.Temperature regulation 

Take an example you are doing a heavy exercise and you become so hot, your body will regulate that temperature back to normal through sweating. The body will evaporate the heat outside using water. 

This the main reason you will feel so thirsty after doing an exercise, the body just want to recover the water it lost when it needed to cool down. 

2. Digestion

We all eat food for energy, what water will do after eating is that it will help our stomach to break down the food we ate so easily into small molecules and also help the absorption of those molecules in small intestines into the blood stream where they will be used by our body cells.

3. Heart health 

When there is less water in your blood, the blood volume decreases leaving the heart with a task of pushing faster so that oxygenated blood can reach to all body parts in designed time. 

Our hearts beating faster than usual often lead to strokes, we have to drink enough water to keep the blood volume and concertation in normal ranges. 

4. Brain health 




Science says above 75% of our brain is made up of water, to keep your brain healthy you need to drink enough amount of water to avoid its cells shrinking and dying out. 

5. Mucous and saliva secretion 

Our body uses water to secrete mucous which plays a crucial role in air passages to trap dust and bacteria be for they enter into our lungs.

Water is also used to secrete saliva we use to break down the food we eat into smaller molecules hence make the process of digestion easy,

By the help of kidneys, our body uses to water to expel out wastes inform of urine. Without enough water the brain will release hormones to the kidney requesting them to reabsorb the water. 

Without enough water you will not urinate and as a result wastes will accumulate in your body putting you at a great risk of suffering several diseases including kidney disease.
