Diddy Could Be Pardoned by President Donald Trump Before Sentencing

Music mogul Sean Combs, popularly known as Diddy, could receive a presidential pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump ahead of his upcoming sentencing, according to reports from major media outlets including Deadline and The Washington Post.

On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, sources revealed that Trump has been “seriously considering” granting a pardon to Diddy, following his conviction earlier this month on two counts of violating the Mann Act (transporting individuals for prostitution) out of the five charges he faced.

In May 2025, Trump stated he would “definitely” review Diddy’s case before making any decision on a pardon. Now, insiders close to Trump’s administration confirm that discussions around the pardon have intensified, particularly as Diddy awaits his sentencing set for October 3, 2025.

Diddy Seeks Release on $50 Million Bail

According to TMZ, Diddy’s attorneys, Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, have submitted a new request to Judge Arun Subramanian asking him to reconsider the case and grant Diddy release on a $50 million bail package.

This is the second time Diddy has requested bail since being convicted on July 2, 2025. He has now spent 10 months in jail, and his legal team insists he is prepared to comply with strict monitoring conditions if released ahead of his sentencing.

Political Analysts Weigh In on Trump’s Possible Pardon

Political analysts argue that Trump’s consideration of a pardon may be linked to his long-standing personal and business ties with Diddy, dating back to the 1990s and early 2000s.

However, critics, including media commentator Megyn Kelly, warn that pardoning Diddy could “damage Trump’s public image,” particularly as he gears up for the 2028 presidential election, given that Diddy’s case involves allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse.

Diddy’s Case Stemmed from Serious Allegations

Diddy was first indicted in 2024, facing five charges including racketeering, sex trafficking, and the alleged use of drugs in organized sex events.

While the court cleared him of the most serious charges such as trafficking and racketeering, he was found guilty of two counts under the Mann Act related to transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution. His sentencing is scheduled for October 3, 2025.
